Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has declared that he does not support any form of separatist movement, stressing that the South-East region needs Nigeria to thrive.
Soludo made this known while reacting to renewed calls for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who has remained in detention.
The governor noted that while he supports peace and justice for all, the idea of breaking away from Nigeria is not the solution to the challenges facing the South-East.
He explained that development and progress in the region can only be achieved through dialogue, unity, and a strong partnership with the rest of the country.
Soludo emphasized that the focus should be on rebuilding the economy, improving infrastructure, and creating opportunities for young people rather than pursuing divisive causes.
His remarks come amid rising agitation and planned pr0tests by groups demanding Kanu’s release and greater political inclusion for the Igbo people.
