The lifeless body of a 23-year-old student of the Federal Nursing Science College, Calabar, Cross River State, Elizabeth Awhohiwom Ukah, was found dead in a drainage.
Peak Newspaper Nigeria reports that the body was found in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025, along Musaha Umoh Okon Street, Ekpo Abasi Area of Calabar, Cross River State, but was not immediately identified.
Residents alerted authorities on noticing the body, which was initially found faced down.Upon arrival, men of the Nigeria Police Force turned the face up to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
Journalist, Agba Jalingo, who identify the deceased in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, said she was suspected to to have been swept away by flood while returning home after attending Good Friday mass and taking part in the stations of the Cross at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Big-Qua Town by Eastern Secondary School, close to Marian Market, Calabar.Ukah hails from Ohong community in Obudu Local Government Area of the state.
