Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as well as major stakeholders in the state has formally abandoned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This follows weeks of speculations about the move.This followed a closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba, the state capital on Wednesday.
The defection was confirmed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon.
Speaking by on phone, Ahon revealed that the governor’s decision emerged from “wide consultations with political stakeholders and in the interest of Delta’s long-term development.
”A press briefing led by Sen. Ebiowou Manager and Delta Commissioner of Information, Aniagwu Charles confirmed the development.
