Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has accused former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of repeating what he described as lies about the Lekki Toll Gate incident during the 2020 #EndSARS protest, Peak Newspaper reports.
In a post shared via his official X page on Wednesday, Onanuga claimed that soldiers did not kill anyone at the Lekki Toll Gate, insisting that videos from the scene showed the soldiers shooting into the air rather than at the protesters.
He also alleged that the protesters were being used to advance an agenda by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to destroy Lagos.
Onanuga wrote: “Peter Obi is certainly incurable when it comes to regurgitating lies. The soldiers did not kill anyone at Lekki Toll Gate. The video of the scene showed soldiers shooting in the air, not at the protesters, who were innocently being used for an IPOB agenda to destroy Lagos.”
