The House of Representatives says it’s stepping in to help end the ongoing ASUU warning strike, which has already brought lectures and campus activities to a halt across the country.
The lawmakers discussed the issue during Tuesday’s sitting after Hon. Sesi Whingham (APC, Lagos) raised concerns about how the repeated strikes are affecting students, lecturers, and the overall state of higher education in Nigeria.
The House urged both ASUU and the federal government to find common ground and work toward a lasting solution instead of another round of back and forth.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen will lead a team to meet with both sides soon, hoping to calm tensions and get universities running again
