In a major boost to West Africa’s industrial landscape, Dangote Cement has commenced full operations at its new 3 million tonne per year plant in Attingué, Côte d’Ivoire, about 30 kilometres from Abidjan.
The sprawling 50 hectare facility represents a ₦100 billion investment and marks a key milestone in the company’s mission to strengthen Africa’s self-sufficiency in cement production.
Beyond driving infrastructure growth, the new plant is projected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, while reducing the country’s dependence on cement imports.
With this addition, Côte d’Ivoire becomes the 11th African nation to host a Dangote Cement production hub, pushing the group’s total installed capacity across the continent to over 55 million tonnes annually
