The Federal Government has reached an agreement to revive the Delta Steel Company after years of inactivity, Peak Newspaper reports.
Under the deal, the company’s owners are expected to invest $1.3 billion to rehabilitate and restart the steel plant.
The project is also projected to create about 25,000 jobs, potentially boosting industrial activity and economic opportunities in the region.
The government said the initiative is part of efforts to revitalise Nigeria’s steel sector and strengthen domestic industrial production.
