ADC governorship candidate Najeem F. Salaam has met with international election observer missions ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election, Peak Newspaper reports
Salaam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, disclosed the meetings on Thursday through his official X account. He said the discussions focused on the electoral process and provided an opportunity for him to share his views with the observers.
The delegations included representatives linked to the Canadian High Commission, European Union and International Republican Institute. They were led by Omar Alihashi, Osaro Odemwingie and Jenai Cox respectively.
The meetings come as political parties and candidates intensify their final preparations ahead of the August 15 election. International and domestic observers are also expected to monitor the conduct of the poll across the state.
Salaam is among the candidates seeking to unseat incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke in the closely watched election. The ADC candidate has continued to campaign for support as voters prepare to choose the next governor of Osun State.
