Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has denied allegations linking him to the 2019 disappearance of government critic, Abubakar Idris Dadiyata, Peak Newspaper reports.
Ganduje was reacting to claims reportedly made by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, suggesting a connection between him and the unresolved case.
In a statement issued by his media aides, Ganduje described the allegation as baseless and politically motivated. He said he had no involvement in Dadiyata’s disappearance and challenged anyone with evidence to present it to the appropriate authorities.
Dadiyata, a vocal critic of political leaders, was reported missing in August 2019. His whereabouts remain unknown, and the case has continued to draw public concern and calls for investigation.
There has been no official update from security agencies on the status of the investigation at the time of filing this report.
