As President Bola Tinubu marks two years in office, economists have rated his reforms low on improving living standards despite signs of economic stabilisation.

Muda Yusuf and Gbolade Idakolo, in separate reviews, blamed fuel subsidy removal and naira floatation for soaring inflation, weakened purchasing power, and rising poverty.

Fuel now sells above N900 per litre, with the naira falling to N1,579/$1. Inflation reached 23.71% in April, undercutting the impact of the N70,000 minimum wage.

While noting gains in foreign reserves, investor confidence, and fiscal stability, the experts warned that without urgent relief measures, economic pain will continue to overshadow progress.
