President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in Mr Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Peak Newspaper reports.
The brief ceremony took place around 2:30 pm inside the President’s office, five days after the Senate confirmed his nomination on March 12 through a voice vote. Oyedele, dressed in a navy blue suit, arrived at the Villa with his wife shortly before 2:09 pm.
The 50-year-old fiscal policy expert from Ikaram-Akoko in Ondo State replaces Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. As former Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Oyedele led the overhaul that produced the four landmark Tax Reform Acts signed into law in June 2025 and effective from January 1, 2026.
