A confrontation reportedly broke out at the polling unit of Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party deputy governorship candidate, Prince Kola Adewusi, during Saturday’s governorship election in Ile-Ife, Peak Newspaper reports

The incident reportedly occurred after the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti, arrived at the polling unit.

Adereti had earlier cast his vote at Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, before proceeding to Adewusi’s polling location.

According to reports, some supporters of the deputy governor resisted Adereti’s presence, resulting in a heated confrontation as supporters exchanged words.

The incident briefly disrupted the atmosphere at the polling unit, with tension reportedly rising among those present.

The reason for Adereti’s visit to the polling unit was not immediately clear as of the time of filing this report. However, his arrival reportedly unsettled some of Adewusi’s supporters.
