Less than 50% of Nigerians now have confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 elections. More than half of the country is losing trust in the system meant to protect their votes, Peak Newspaper reports.

According to a statement by civic group GoNigeria, recent surveys show that public confidence in INEC has fallen below 50%, raising serious concerns about the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
