The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has officially declared Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections following a decisive party primary held on Thursday, Peak Newspaper reports.
The exercise took place at the APC Secretariat in Acme, Ogba, and was described by party officials as peaceful, orderly, and transparent, with key stakeholders in attendance.
Hamzat, who currently serves as Deputy Governor of Lagos State, secured an overwhelming 657,917 votes out of 657,974 accredited votes cast, while his challenger, Lanre Jim-Kamal, polled just one vote. Another aspirant, Samuel Ajose, withdrew from the contest before voting commenced.
