The Federal Government has filed a criminal charge against Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, over alleged forgery and use of false documents in a disputed property matter in the United Kingdom, Peak Newspaper reports.
The three count charge, marked FCT/HC/CR/010/2026, was filed on Friday before a Federal High Court in Abuja by Osuobeni Akponimisingha, Head of the High Profile Prosecution Department at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, alongside Ngozi Onwuka, Assistant Chief Legal Officer, acting for the Attorney General of the Federation.
Prosecutors allege that Ozekhome knowingly presented forged documents, including a Nigerian international passport, to support a claim of ownership of a property at 79 Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX, during proceedings at the London First Tier Tribunal.
The charge states that the documents were used to mislead the UK tribunal in a case connected to the control and management of the property.
Authorities said the action violates Nigerian laws on forgery and giving false information.
No date has been fixed for arraignment, and the legal team of the senior advocate has yet to issue a public response to the allegations.
