Veteran Nollywood actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has claimed that former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai is being politically persecuted for joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peak Newspaper reports.
According to Okonkwo, the legal actions and investigations targeting El-Rufai are not about corruption or wrongdoing, but rather a form of political retaliation following his defection to ADC.
He argued that:
“El-Rufai is being unfairly targeted because of his political alignment. What we are witnessing is a classic case of persecution dressed up as law enforcement.”
Okonkwo’s statement has sparked discussions across social media, with many Nigerians questioning whether political affiliation is influencing legal processes in the country.
