The government of Delta State has approved the sum of ₦34 billion for the construction of police divisional headquarters across 25 local government areas in the state, Peak Newspaper reports.
The approval is part of the state government’s broader strategy to strengthen security infrastructure and improve policing across communities.
Authorities say the new facilities are expected to provide better working conditions for police officers and improved security services for residents.
Security has remained a major concern across many parts of Nigeria. The Delta State government believes that investing in modern police infrastructure will help security agencies respond more effectively to criminal activities.
If completed successfully, the project could significantly strengthen policing structures across the state, ensuring that more communities have access to well-equipped divisional police headquarters.
