Former Interior Minister and ADC national secretary Rauf Aregbesola has issued a scathing critique of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the party of mismanaging the economy and security, and failing Nigerians at multiple levels.
Speaking at the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State, Aregbesola condemned rising hunger, unemployment, and insecurity that he says have become the hallmark of the APC government. He argued that governance under the APC has devolved into personal enrichment and political intimidation.
“Under the current administration, hunger has taken over the land. Governance has been reduced to personal enrichment and political intimidation,” he said.
Aregbesola also accused the APC of being intolerant to opposition voices, using the machinery of the state to suppress dissent.
He painted the ADC as more than just a political party positioning it as a “party of conscience and service,” and urging Nigerians to reject what he describes as “selfish and insensitive governance” in the 2027 general elections.
The former governor’s remarks underscore growing discontent with the APC among some of its once-loyal members and signal mounting pressure on the ruling party as election season approaches.
