The Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the commencement of a nationwide membership drive starting Monday as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, Peak Newspaper reports.
The move, spearheaded by former Minister Tanimu Turaki, is aimed at expanding the party’s support base, mobilising grassroots structures, and attracting new members across the 36 states and the FCT.
According to party sources, the exercise will involve ward-level registration, stakeholder engagements, and strategic consultations designed to strengthen internal cohesion and boost the PDP’s electoral readiness.
The development comes amid ongoing realignments within Nigeria’s political space as parties begin early preparations for the 2027 polls.
