The United Kingdom will begin issuing electronic visas to Nigerian travellers from February 25, 2026, replacing the traditional visa sticker placed in passports, Peak Newspaper reports.
Under the new system, successful applicants will receive a digital eVisa linked to their passport.
Travellers will no longer need a physical vignette, as their immigration status will be stored electronically and verified online.
The shift is part of the UK’s broader move toward a fully digital immigration process designed to improve security and streamline border checks.
Authorities advised applicants to ensure their passport details are accurate and to keep access to the email account used during the visa application, as visa information will be communicated electronically.
The change affects various visa categories and is expected to simplify travel documentation for Nigerians visiting the UK.
