President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday, joined dignitaries in Ijebu Ode for the 8th-day prayer of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, describing him as a symbol of integrity, courage, and Yoruba cultural pride.
Tinubu recalled the monarch’s spiritual support during his political journey and praised his impactful 65-year reign. “He was a bold and truthful leader whose legacy must live on,” the President said.
Accompanied by top government officials and governors, Tinubu offered prayers at the late Oba’s tomb and met with the royal family.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, clerics, and community leaders also paid glowing tributes, affirming the Awujale’s enduring contributions to Ijebuland and Nigeria.
