Theo Abu Agada, spokesperson for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has dismissed claims that the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, rejected a list of nominees submitted by its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for the Presidential Campaign Council, Peak Newspaper reports.

Abu Agada addressed the allegation in a post on his official X account on Friday, October 23, 2026, describing the claim as false.

The controversy followed a statement by an X user alleging that Dickson had turned down the campaign council list presented by Obi. The claim emerged after the NDC announced the postponement of the unveiling and inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council members until October 26, 2026.

The social media user reportedly suggested that the disagreement arose because Obi had submitted a list containing numerous content creators.

However, reacting to the allegation, Abu Agada denied that Dickson had rejected the list submitted by the party’s presidential candidate. He also criticised those spreading the claim, urging them to pay more attention to developments within their own political party.

In his response on X, the NDC spokesperson wrote:

“This is a lie from the pit of hell. Stop this nonsense. You people are more invested in our affairs than your struggling party, the ADC”.

His reaction represents the NDC spokesperson’s rejection of the allegation surrounding the preparation of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.

The report, therefore, reflects a dispute over claims circulating on social media, with Abu Agada maintaining that the assertion about Dickson rejecting Obi’s list is untrue.

Just trying to do something today , because we have a lot of things to discuss ahead of the presidential election.
