In a bid to provide succour for Muslim Umah during this fasting period, the Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, has donated food stuffs to Ore Muslim’s in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Peak Newspaper reports.
While distributing the items yesterday including beverages to the beneficiaries at his residence in Ore, Odigbo Local Government, said that the items would assist the Muslim faithful fasting in the Holy month of Ramadan.
The package contained: rice, beans and vegetable oil, etc.
The Commissioner said that the gesture was to cushion the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the beneficiaries.
Hon Amidu Takuro escribed Ramadan as a sacred month characterized by fasting, charity and prayers, noting that acts of kindness and generosity are especially significant during the period.
He said the intervention aligned with his commitment to responsive representation and grassroots support.
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, sacrifice and compassion. It is our responsibility as leaders to support our people, especially during challenging times,” he stated.
He added that the items would also give relief to the Muslims, who he said were observing Ramadan.
According to him, the distribution has no political coloration but given out of sheer love to the beneficiaries.
He urged the beneficiaries to continue to abide by the precautionary measures ordered by the state government led by Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and other authorities.
Takuro noted that with cooperation and collaboration of all, the pandemic could be overcome.
Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the kind gestures of Hon Amidu Takuro praying that God will sustain and keep her alive to do more for his people.
“This is not the first time you are bringing smiles to our faces in the midst of hardship. As you continue to be a good ambassador of the Muslim fate, almighty Allah will protect and replenish your pocket” They prayed.
