President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of His Holiness, Pope Francis, describing the late Pontiff as a ‘humble servant of God’ and ‘a powerful voice for justice, peace, and the poor’.
In an official statement issued on Monday, President Tinubu joined Catholic faithful and Christians around the world in mourning the death of the 266th Pope, whose papacy began in 2013 and left a lasting imprint on the global community.
“The world has lost a guiding light, a steadfast advocate for justice, and a tireless champion of the downtrodden,” President Tinubu said.
He said; “His Holiness served the Church and the Master of the Church until the very end.”
