Member of the 10th Ondo state House of Assembly, representing Odigbo 2, Hon. Babatunde Oluwarotimi Fasonu, through his Farmers’ Support Programme, distributed over 2000 hybrid cocoa seedlings to Cocoa farmers in Odigbo constituency 2.
Peak Newspaper Nigeria reports that during Hon. Fasonu’s Farmers’ Support Programme which was held today, at the Amotekun Station, in Oniparaga area of Odigbo Local Government of Ondo state, Fasonu noted that his empowerment program underscores his solid commitment for the growth, progress and prosperity of his constituents.
“The Farmers’ Support Programme is part of my broader vision, in alignment with the progressive strategy of the Governor of Ondo state, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa is aimed to alleviate our people out of poverty, support small-scale and medium-scale businesses and foster growth and development in our constituency,” Hon. Fasonu stated.
Speaking further, during the Farmers’ Support Programme, he assured residents of other wards within his constituency that the ongoing empowerment program will be extended to other wards, without bias.
He added that his empowerment initiative will not only focus on farmers, but also extend to youths, elderly individuals, women, traders, artisans, students, teachers and other social groups.
Some of the wards that benefitted from Hon. Fasonu’s Farmers’ Support Programme, from Odigbo 2 includes Araromi-Obu ward, Ago-Alaye ward, Ayesan ward and Kajola ward.
One of the farmers who benefited from Fasonu’s empowerment initiative, Baba Fajebe, from the Araromi-Obu ward, praised Hon. Fasonu for supporting the farmers.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dear member of Ondo state House of Assembly for prioritizing the well-being of his people. As one of the beneficiaries of his hybrid cocoa seedlings distribution, I say a big thank you,” he said.
Hon idebi, another farmer from Ago Alaye ward, who also benefitted from Fasonu’s empowerment initiative noted that the distributed hybrid cocoa seedlings will boost productivity. He appreciated Hon. Fasonu for his thoughtful leadership.
Reacting to Hon. Fasonu’s Farmers’ empowerment program, a high Chief in Araromi-Obu, Charles Meroyi described the empowerment initiative as a “thoughtful gesture of kindness, laced with exceptional leadership” and he commended Fasonu for “remembering his people.”
Also, in his address at Hon. Fasonu’s Farmers’ Support Programme, a prominent All Progressive Congress (APC) leader and Ifesowapo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Vice Chairman, Hon. Giwa praised Fasonu for empowering the farmers.
Some of the dignitaries who graced Hon. Fasonu’s empowerment program includes APC Chieftains from Odigbo- Constituency 2; High Chief, Charles from Araromi-Obu; Oniparaga Ward Chairman; Koseru ward Chairman; Baba Omileye; Ago-Alaye ward Chairman, Hon. Idiris, among others.
