Twenty-seven suspects have been arrested for allegedly vandalising the newly constructed Festac–Alakija Bridge in Lagos State, Peak Newspaper reports.
According to the officials statement, the suspects were caught removing critical metal reinforcements from the bridge, an act that has raised fresh concerns about the safety and protection of public infrastructure.
Authorities warned that vandalism of government facilities poses a serious risk to public safety and vowed to prosecute those found culpable.
The arrests form part of ongoing efforts to safeguard critical infrastructure across the state.
