The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has rejected the party’s national convention, which took place in Abuja on Sunday, Peak Newspaper reports.
In a statement on Monday, the Turaki-led group described the convention as illegitimate and warned that decisions taken during the meeting would not be recognized by their faction.
The development highlights continuing internal divisions within the PDP, which has been struggling with leadership disputes and factionalism ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Party officials in Abuja have yet to respond publicly to the faction’s rejection.
