The Nigeria Police Force has launched a nationwide search after one of its official vehicles was stolen from the premises of the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The missing vehicle, a Toyota Buffalo Land Cruiser with registration number NPF 5594 D and chassis number JTELU71JX0B027126, was attached to the Department of Operations at Louis Edet House, Abuja.
It was declared missing on July 28, 2025, after being removed from the official parking lot.
An internal wireless message from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), relayed through the Commissioner of Police (DFA, Katsina Command), confirmed the theft and directed all police formations, area commands, and divisions across the country to be on the lookout.
“Case is under investigation. Grateful disseminate to formations, area commands, and divisions for possible recovery. Inform mine for necessary action,” the message stated.
It described the incident as “very important” and urged operatives to report any leads that could assist recovery efforts.
Police authorities said the incident is under active investigation, with a manhunt already underway to trace the stolen vehicle.
