The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) will on Saturday April 12, 2025 convocate a total of 17, 420 students during its 14th convocation ceremony in Abuja.
This announcement was made by the vice chancellor of the university Prof Olufemi Peters while addressing the press on activities lined up for the ceremony this weekend.Among this number, he said, 10,967 are at the undergraduate level, 6,413 at Post Graduate level while 40 students, he noted, would bag their PhD in various disciplines.
A total of 4,310, he said, would also bag Masters Degrees.Giving a further breakdown, the vice chancellor said about 16 undergraduates of various Correctional Centres across the country bagged First Class Degrees, 1,417 bagged Second Class Upper Division, 5,518 of them bagged Second Class Lower Division while 2,761, he said, bagged Third Class Division, a development, he noted, is so remarkable considering what he said was the request from the Ministry of Interior towards extending its community services to Correctional Centres.
Prof Peters used the occasion to state that NOUN has added Computer Department to the number of courses run in the university in line with the institution’s technological drive to strengthen learning.
