President Bola Tinubu says his government is delivering on its promise to turn Nigeria into a global agricultural powerhouse.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday at the launch of the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme, Tinubu said the new reforms are meant to modernise farming and make it more appealing to young Nigerians.
“We have over 2,000 advanced tractors, 50 bulldozers, 12 mobile workshops, and more than 9,000 farming tools ready.
“This will make farming easier, create jobs, and make it ‘sexier’ for our youths,” he announced.
He added that his administration is working with countries like Belarus to train young people in modern farming, machine repair and equipment building, helping them gain useful skills and financial independence.
