Hon. Mathew Oye Oyerinmade Mato has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency in Ondo State, Peak Newspaper reports.
His closest challenger, Hon Sumisola: 471 votes, Hon Festus Adefiroye: 1,944 votes Hon Itoju: 5 votes, Hon Dr. Olatunji Felder: 147 votes Hon Olumoyegun Ayo: 155 votes in the primary election.
According to the official collation results of the exercise, Mato polled a total of 12,744 votes to defeat other contenders in the contest.
The result, contained in the federal constituency collation form, confirmed Mato as the party’s flag bearer for the Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Peak Newspaper understood that the primary election process was described by party members and observers as peaceful and orderly, with supporters of the candidate expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise and congratulating him on his emergence.
