Lagos Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, will on September 25, be called to the Nigerian Bar, marking his formal admission as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The Call to Bar is the ceremony where law graduates who have completed the Nigerian Law School programme and passed the Bar Finals are officially admitted to legal practice.
Babaseyi recently served briefly as the acting spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command after Benjamin Hundeyin was appointed Force PRO.
He held the position until the command named Abimbola Adebisi as substantive PPRO earlier in September.
A disciplined and mission-driven law enforcement officer whose career reflects a blend of policing expertise and legal excellence, Babaseyi has distinguished himself in crisis communication, media strategy, and public engagement, consistently working to bridge the gap between the Nigeria Police Force and the public.
His record of service spans operational command, criminal investigation, and community policing, underscoring his versatility and commitment to service.
With more than six years of frontline policing across multiple divisions, including leadership as a Unit Commander in the 22 Police Mobile Force Squadron and field experience under Operation Hadin Kai in North East Nigeria, DSP Babaseyi has shown resilience and integrity in high-risk environments.
His academic achievements include a Diploma in Law from Osun State University, an LLB from the Nigeria Police Academy, and his Call to the Bar after the Nigerian Law School, demonstrate his intellectual rigour and dedication to the rule of law.
He continues to embody the values of discipline, service, and honour, strengthening both institutional credibility and public trust in law enforcement.
The Call to Bar ceremony will hold at the Body of Benchers Complex in Abuja.
