A disturbing video circulating online shows a kidnapped Nigerian man pleading for his life after gunmen reportedly demanded ₦100 million ransom for his release, Peak Newspaper.
According to reports, the victim—identified as Joseph Kayode Aladesuyi, a local government secretary—was abducted by gunmen at a poultry farm in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State along with another victim.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on March 9, 2026 at the farm near the Akure Airport area.
The kidnappers later contacted the family and demanded ₦100 million ransom for his release.
In the viral clip, the kidnapped man begs Nigerians and authorities for help, saying:
Family sources said the abductors opened communication with them and insisted that the ransom must be paid before the victim would be freed.
Peak Newspaper understood that the Kidnapping for ransom has become a major security challenge in Nigeria, with criminals frequently targeting farmers, commuters, politicians, and community leaders for large payments. In many cases, ransom demands reach tens or hundreds of millions of naira.
