The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is facing criticism after “Tinubu 2027” campaign posters surfaced nationwide despite a ban on early electioneering, Peak Newspaper reports.
Critics accuse the commission of failing to enforce the Electoral Act, which restricts campaigns to 150 days before polls.
Former INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu admitted legal loopholes limit enforcement, while ex-chair Attahiru Jega urged tougher sanctions and clearer regulations to curb premature campaigns.
