Ibom Air has announced plans to commence international flight operations from Uyo in April 2026, Peak Newspaper reports
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed this after inspecting the newly completed international terminal and the airline’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.
According to the minister, the facilities meet international standards and show clear readiness for international operations. He praised the Akwa Ibom State Government for its investment in aviation infrastructure and described Ibom Air as one of the best-managed airlines in the country.
Keyamo noted that the launch of international flights will boost economic activities, create jobs, and position Uyo as a key aviation hub in the South-South region.
Ibom Air’s move into international routes marks a major milestone in the airline’s growth and Nigeria’s expanding aviation sector.
