No fewer than 200 houses have been submerged, while property worth millions of naira were lost due to floods in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Peak Newspaper reports.
The disaster destroyed over 200 houses, leaving many families without shelter.
Chief Emaye Omotola was reported to have lost his home, including personal belongings.
On his social media platforms through popular Biripo Musical Chief Emaye Omotola, water flooding takes his street and houses in Ikoye road Okitipupa by the heavy rainfall.
A community sources within Okitipupa said floodwater as a heavy downpour left large parts of Okitipupa, Ondo State, completely submerged.
The sources say the flooding has forced many families out of their homes, damaged properties, and made movement almost impossible.
Those affected are now pleading with the Ondo State Government and relevant emergency agencies to step in with urgent relief and support. He said.
The community is hoping for a swift response before the situation worsens.
