PDP chieftain Bode George has appealed to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to put aside their differences, describing their ongoing clash over party leadership as “embarrassing.” Peak Newspaper reports.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, George said: “Enough of these shenanigans. In politics, whatever you want to do within your system, you do it.”
Makinde recently accused Wike of pledging to “hold down” the PDP for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, a claim Wike strongly denied, calling it “a blatant lie.”
The dispute marks a sharp break between the former allies, who were both members of the now-defunct G5 group that backed Tinubu in 2023. George urged them to sheath their swords and avoid further damage to the party.
