Afrobeats superstar Davido has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio ordered officials at the Osun State governorship election collation centre to stop the ongoing collation of results, Peak Newspaper reports.
Davido made the allegation in a post on his verified X account on Saturday, as results from polling units across the state were being collated.
According to the singer, Akpabio allegedly contacted the collation centre and instructed officials to halt the process.
“Senate President Akpabio has called the Collation Centre that they should stop collation,” Davido alleged.
The allegation comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues uploading polling-unit results to its Results Viewing Portal, IReV, with more than 80 percent of results reportedly uploaded.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle and is seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, has recorded victories in several polling units as the results continue to emerge.
There was no immediate independent confirmation of Davido’s allegation regarding the Senate President.
Peak Newspaper will continue monitoring the Osun election and provide updates as the official results are collated and announced.
