In a decisive move to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery, Special Adviser to the Ondo state Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Comrade Bola Taiwo, has distributed an extensive array of medical equipment to Araromi-Obu General Hospital, Peak Newspaper Nigeria reports
The distribution exercise, held at Araromi-Obu General Hospital, yesterday, saw over 45 categories of essential medical tools and supplies delivered to support quality and affordable healthcare for residents.
Speaking during the event, Comrade Bola Taiwo represented by Dr. Abiona Femi, emphasized the importance of accessible medical care at the local level. “This intervention is aimed at improving the standard of healthcare available in our community. Every resident of Araromi-Obu deserves timely and quality medical attention,” he stated.
Among the donated items were office chairs and tables, drip stands, hospital beds and mattresses, pulse oximeter, nebuliser, micro haematocrit centrifuge, micro haematocrit tube reader, bedpans, Lenovo laptop computer, HP printer, scanning machine and printer, surgical instruments, operating table, operating lamp, generator, delivery couch, sphygmomanometer, oxygen cylinder with regulator, and a weighing scale.
“This is not just a donation, it is an investment in the health and future of our people.” he added.
Local healthcare workers, community leaders, and representatives from the general hospital sector were in attendance to witness the equipment handover.
Responding, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital Dr. Owolabi Olakunle lauded Comrade Bola Taiwo for the kindness, restated commitment to ensure that medical facilities were in good condition for the health benefit of patients, expressed optimism that the gesture would have a positive effect on the lives of the residents.
