President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), succeeding Professor Is-haq Oloyede, whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026, Peak Newspaper reports.

Professor Aina, currently 39 and set to turn 40 in July 2026, became one of Nigeria’s youngest professors at the age of 39. He is a renowned Computer Engineering professor at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He holds degrees from the University of Kent and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, with expertise in computer systems, network security, and digital signal processing.

He previously worked with JAMB during his NYSC and has consulted for examination bodies including NECO and NABTEB on ICT systems and examination reforms.

President Tinubu said the appointment reflects confidence in Aina’s experience in technology, education, and institutional reform to further strengthen JAMB’s operations and achievements.
