The President of Odigbo Local Government Staff Cooperative Multipurpose Society 1, Alhaji Mohammed Jimoh Akinpelumi received the religious chieftaincy title of Balogun Adeen from the Araromi Obu Kingdom Muslim Community on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Peak Newspaper reports.
Official certification from the ceremony confirmed to PEAK NEWSPAPER that Akinpelumi’s accepted the responsibilities of the position.
The installation event was held in conjunction with The League of Imams and Alfas Ifesowapo LCDA Araromi-Obu at the Araromi-Obu Youth Hall in Ondo State.
The document establishes the ceremony occurred on Yaomu Sabit 4th Safar 1448 of the Islamic calendar. Reports have it that the recipient pledged his loyalty to the Chief Imam of Araromi-Obu Kingdom.
The Chief Imam retains the final right to withdraw the title in the event of misconduct or disloyalty.
The certificate of installation was authorized by multiple local leaders. Signatories include Alhaji Leke Suara B., Chairman of the Araromi-Obu Kingdom Mushin Community, and Alhaji Lukuman Oloyede, the community’s secretary. Alhaji Isiaq Adeyemi signed as the Secretary of the Planning Committee.
The record was countersigned by Fadilat Sheikh Al-Imam Alhaji Muhammad Abibullahi Akinpelumi, who serves as the Grand Chief Imam of the kingdom and Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas Odigbo Local Government Area.
