Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu has warned police commissioners across the country against engaging in illegal detention, corruption, and abuse of office, Peak Newspaper reports.
The police chief charged senior officers to uphold professionalism, accountability, and respect for citizens’ rights while carrying out their duties.
Disu stressed that misconduct by officers would not be tolerated, urging police commissioners to ensure that commands under their supervision operate within the law and maintain public trust.
He called for improved discipline and ethical conduct across the Nigeria Police Force, noting that accountability remains essential to effective policing nationwide.
