The Former Senator Omololu Samuel Meroyi represented the Ondo South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate from May 1999 to May 2003, is dead, Peak Newspaper reports.
Details of the circumstances surrounding his death were unclear at the time of this report, but Peak Newspaper understands that the former senator died in Akure the state capital on Wednesday, aged 76 years.
Senator Omololu Samuel Meroyi first won the seat under the Alliance for Democracy (AD) before later switching to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Born on January 1, 1950, he holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
He served in the House of Representatives in 1983. After his time in the Senate, he was involved in several political parties. He later became the National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the Nigerian Senators’ Forum.
Peak Newspaper recall that Senator Omololu worked as a management consultant and served as the chairman of Araromi Rubber Estates Limited.
