The Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that the medical facility of the Department of State Services (DSS) is sufficient to cater to the health needs of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Delivering the ruling on Thursday, the presiding judge dismissed the defense’s request for Kanu to be transferred to an independent medical facility, noting that there was no substantial evidence proving negligence or lack of care by the DSS.
The court subsequently adjourned the case to October 23, 2025, for further hearing.
