Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has vowed to ensure that the state remains peaceful throughout the 2027 electioneering period, urging political parties and their supporters to avoid violence, personal attacks and lawlessness, Peak Newspaper reports.
Mohammed made the call while speaking on preparations for the 2027 general elections, stressing the need for politicians to focus on issues and engage in campaigns that promote unity rather than division.
The governor urged political actors to respect the electoral process and the laws guiding elections, saying political differences should not be allowed to threaten the peace and stability of Bauchi State.
He also called on supporters of different political parties to conduct themselves responsibly during campaigns and avoid actions capable of escalating tensions.
Mohammed expressed confidence that Bauchi would maintain its reputation as a peaceful state throughout the 2027 election period.
