Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to withdraw its criminal complaint against Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate.

The Minister also ordered the reduction of K1’s flight ban from six months to one month, paving the way for his earlier return to air travel privileges.

In a related decision, the NCAA will restore the licenses of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba of ValueJet Airlines after serving the same one-month suspension period.

Keyamo further intervened in the case of Ms. Comfort Emmanson, involving Ibom Air. Following consultations with the airline’s management, the Minister secured an agreement to withdraw its complaint against her. He also instructed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to expedite the necessary procedures for her release from Kirikiri Prisons within the week.

To ensure her full reintegration, Keyamo engaged with the leadership of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), urging them to lift the lifetime flight ban previously imposed on Emmanson. The association agreed to comply.

This series of interventions highlights the Ministry’s emphasis on conciliation, proportional sanctions, and restoring industry harmony.
