Governors from the North-Central states have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, Peak Newspaper reports.
The endorsement was made at the APC North-Central mega rally held in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital on Saturday.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state and chairman North-Central governors disclosed that Nasarawa state would vote for the APC presidential candidate and all other candidates of the party.
Sule expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, reaffirming the state’s commitment to the APC and its candidates.
Governors from Plateau, Benue, Kwara, Kogi, and Niger states also declared their support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
They said the president has transformed the nation’s economy and other sectors under his administration.
Speaking at the rally, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed optimism that the economic hardship facing Nigerians would come to an end.
She assured the Nigerian citizens of improved conditions if President Tinubu secures another mandate.
Tinubu highlighted some initiatives of the present administration, including interventions in healthcare, road construction and education, particularly the student loan scheme designed to improve access to higher education.
The APC National chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, said the Lafia rally was a demonstration of North Central’s collective commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vive President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
He said all governors from the six North Central states and FCT have agreed to mobilise their full political structures and supporters for Tinubu/Shettima.
As according to him, “The North Central will mobilise votes and overwhelmingly support Mr. President as our candidate in the 2027 general election.”
