Airtel subscribers using the outdoor unit router have reported persistent service disruptions following a network outage that lasted about two days, with connectivity returning at significantly reduced quality, Peak Newspaper reports.

Affected users said that after the prolonged outage, the Airtel ODU router began displaying only 3G connectivity instead of the expected 4G or 5G network. According to the subscribers, Airtel customer service operatives advised them to reset the ODU device as part of troubleshooting efforts.

However, users said the reset did not resolve the issue. Instead, the connection reportedly remained on 3G and was unstable, frequently dropping and reconnecting. In several instances, the 3G signal intermittently disappeared, making internet access unreliable.

Subscribers expressed concern over the downgrade in service quality, noting that the ODU router is marketed for high-speed broadband access. They said the recurring network failures have disrupted work, streaming, and other online activities.

As of the time of reporting, Airtel had not issued an official statement explaining the outage, the apparent network downgrade, or when full 4G or 5G service would be restored in the affected areas.
