Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has alleged that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and NNPP’s Rabiu Kwankwaso both worked in favor of President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections—and may do so again in 2027.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Adeyanju claimed Obi is unlikely to support any opposition coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, asserting that both Obi and Kwankwaso acted in their own political interests last time around.
“I’m 100% convinced Obi worked for Tinubu in 2023 and will again in 2027,” Adeyanju wrote. “He will refuse to join any coalition. Same goes for Kwankwaso.”
The lawyer argued that for any opposition coalition to stand a chance in 2027, politicians like Atiku and Obi must step aside and allow neutral candidates to emerge.
According to him, politics in Africa has become the continent’s biggest industry—one driven by political merchants who prioritize profit over national interest.
