According to the state government, the approved sum comprises ₦125.6 million for beneficiaries at the state level and ₦78.6 million for beneficiaries at the local government level. Governor Adeleke noted that workers’ welfare remains a central pillar of his administration’s Five-Point Action Plan.

Adeleke further disclosed that under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme, the state had approved and released ₦1.87 billion to settle outstanding claims involving 563 beneficiaries, covering the period from September 2013 to August 2023. He explained that the Group Life Assurance Policy under the Contributory Pension Scheme was designed to provide financial support to the families of workers who die while in service and assured workers and pensioners of his administration’s continued commitment to the prompt payment of all legitimate entitlements.
